Press Release
Solid defence by Revco (5-6), coupled with some poor shooting by Arctic Cat, resulted in a 53-32 win for the Renegades in Fort Frances Men’s Basketball League action Tuesday night at Fort High.
John Sivonen paced Revco with 13 points while Adrian Chapman added 10.
Kobi Ward led Arctic Cat with 10.
It’s tough to hand Sunset Landscaping (8-3) a defeat at any time. But when their three-pointers are dropping, it’s almost impossible.
That was the case in the night’s second game as Sunset scored nine “treys” (three each by Josh Mastin, Cody Johnson, and Shelby Wolden) in the second half to pull away for a 81-53 victory over BDO (0-11).
Wally Tabash led BDO with 15 points while Mastin had a team-high 36 for Sunset.
The night’s final game saw the league’s first traded player, Trevor Martin, facing his former team as RRFN (8-2) earned a hard-fought 53-50 victory over Arctic Cat (7-4).
Arctic Cat stormed back from a double-digit deficit in the first half on the strength of Jake McIntosh’s 12 points after the break to pull within three with less than five seconds left.
But they couldn’t get their last shot to drop.
Sam Soderman led RRFN with 28 points, Matt MacKenzie adding 19 points.
League action will resume Jan. 31—taking next week off due to high school exams.
