Another respite bed for Rainycrest

Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. is pleased to announce the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has approved an additional respite bed at Rainycrest.
Respite gives caregivers a break from their responsibilities while their adult family member is temporarily cared for in a long-term care home.
The service can be used for a few days (such as a weekend), a week, or up to 30 days at a time.
Respite is arranged through the North West Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) and is available for anyone 18 years of age or over.
There is a minimal daily fee for respite services that is set by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
“Often times, caregivers do not give themselves a break until they are completely burned out,” noted Lori Wilson, program manager of the North West CCAC.
“We really encourage people to call us and ask for help,” she added. “Even just a weekend away can provide some much-needed relief.”
With only one respite bed available in Kenora and two in Dryden, Riverside CEO Wayne Woods is pleased to be adding an additional bed in Fort Frances.
“We are working closely with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to better serve our community and this is great news for the people of the Rainy River District,” he said.
“Caregivers can rest assured that our dedicated staff at Rainycrest will provide high-quality, compassionate care to their loved one during their stay,” Woods added.
