Activities abound at ‘Best Start’ Hub

The Emo ‘Best Start’ Hub will host its Hallowe’en party this Friday (Oct. 26) from 6-8 p.m. at the Emo Legion.
Be sure to stop by for treats, dancing, activities, and more! Everyone is welcome!
Admission is $3 and music will be supplied by Party Rock!
For the younger children, trick-or-treating will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 10 a.m.
Dress in costumes and walk as a group to the Emo Health Centre and downtown businesses!
If you haven’t registered yet, phone to see if there’s still room for your little one.

“Let’s Get Crafty” is an after-school program for families held at the Emo ‘Best Start’ Hub.
Children and their parent/caregiver will do a craft together from 3:30-5 p.m. every Thursday beginning Nov. 8, with the cost being $20/family).
The craft on Nov. 8 and Nov. 15 will be a papier maché snowman while the craft on Nov. 22 and Nov. 29 will be a “Welcome” sign (back by popular demand).
Pre-register by Friday, Nov. 2 by calling the “Best Start” Hub at 482-2946.

The Emo “Best Start” Hub will be offering the babysitting course in January for children aged 12 (or turning 12 within three months of taking the course).
Graduates will receive a babysitter’s handbook.

The Emo and District Lions Club will be holding its annual “Hunters Night” wild meat and fish dinner on Saturday, Nov. 10 at the Barwick Hall.
Tickets, which are going very quickly, cost $20/person, with proceeds going to community projects across the district.
Happy hour will be 5:30 p.m., with the dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m. There also will be a gun raffle, live auction, 50/50 raffle, penny table, door prize, and pie roulette.
Tickets are available from Lions Club members, businesses across the district, or by contacting Kent Ogden (276-1946) or Joanne Ogden (271-0931).

The Emo & District Hospital Auxiliary held a very successful tea and bazaar.
Heidi Bolen Kreger won the door prize donated by Cloverleaf Grocery while Grace Silander won the draw for two sofa tables handcrafted and donated by Mel Jack.
The auxiliary is grateful for donations from businesses and individuals, and wishes to thank all everyone who help out in so many ways to support the Emo Health Centre.
