Stock car racing at the Emo Speedway has been cancelled for this Saturday (Sept. 2). Racing will resume Saturday, Sept. 9, starting with hot laps at 7 p.m. (weather permitting).
A one-hour Bible talk will be held Sunday, Sept. 3 at 4 p.m. at the Fort Frances Volunteer Bureau (old CN stations). All are welcome.

The Fort Frances Minor Hockey Association will hold registration Sept. 5-6 from 6-8 p.m. in the lobby at the Memorial Sports Centre. Bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
Fort Frances Girls’ Hockey registration will be held Sept. 5-6 from 6-8 p.m. in the lobby of the ’52 Canadians Arena. Bring along your birth certificate.
Muskie hockey tryouts will be held for the boys on Sept. 5-8 from 8:15-10:15 p.m. and again Sept. 11-14 from 8:45-10:15 p.m. in the Ice for Kids Arena and for the girls on Sept. 5-7 from 7:15-8:15 p.m. and Sept. 8 from 6:15-7:45 p.m. in the Ice for Kids Arena. The fee is $50 for boys and $30 for girls. Players are asked to show up an hour early on the first night for pre-registration.
“tour de Fort” will hold its annual general meeting Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Toonies (the former Pizza Connection). All passport holders are welcome to attend. A reminder that passports, which cost $95 each for six shows, are on sale now at the Fort Frances Public Library and each Saturday at the Clover Valley Farmers’ Market. Spanish classes will be held at the Salvation Army Citadel (316 Victoria Ave.) every Thursday from 7-8:30 p.m. for 10 weeks starting Sept. 7. The instructors will be Capt. Marlene Sandoval and Carol Livingston. The cost is free, but small donations are welcome to cover costs. No pre-registration is required but weekly attendance is appreciated.

“Swing Delivery” of Grand Rapids, Mn. will perform Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Backus auditorium in International Falls. ‘AA’ hockey tryouts will be held Monday, Sept. 11 at the Ice for Kids Arena, starting with PeeWee at 5:45 p.m. and followed by Bantam, and again on Tuesday, Sept. 12 starting at 5:45 p.m. for Atom, followed by Midget.
The Emo-Devlin-Barwick Minor Hockey Association will hold registration on Monday, Sept. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 12 from 7-9 p.m. at the Emo Arena. First-time registrants must bring along their birth certificate. A late fee will apply to those registering after these dates.
