A “fall harvest breakfast and bake sale,” sponsored by the Emmanuel Christian Academy, will be held Saturday, Sept. 30 from 8:30-11 a.m. at the New Beginnings Fellowship (beside the Lakeview Trailer Court). The CIBC’s annual “Run for the Cure,” in support of breast cancer research, will be held Sunday, Oct. 1 starting at 10 a.m. from the Sorting Gap Marina. Participants will walk, jog, or run either a one-km or five-km course.

The Borderland Bicycle Club will host a “River Road Ramble”—either 25 or 50 km along Highway 602—on Sunday, Oct. 1 starting at 1 p.m. from the public landing by the water tower. The annual “Harvest Supper,” organized by Guthrie United Church in Devlin, will be held Sunday, Oct. 1 from 5-7 p.m. at the Devlin Hall. Admission is $12 for adults (not $10 as was stated incorrectly last week), $5 for children six-12, and free for those five and under.
A 10-week, 60-hour course to prepare people to write the GED exam will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. at Confederation College starting on Oct. 2. Tuition is $290.40 (materials and tests are extra).
The North Western Ontario Tourism Association will hold its annual fall meeting Tuesday, Oct. 3 at Green’s Barbecue Bar in Nestor Falls. Everyone is invited to attend the open portion of the meeting, which gets underway at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 p.m.
