The Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship continues until Saturday under the big tent at the Sorting Gap Marina. The weigh-in starts at 3:30 p.m. today and then at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow.
The “Ultimate Rod Stewart Tribute Concert” goes today (July 28) starting at 9 p.m. under the big tent at the Sorting Gap Marina as part of the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship. Tickets cost $12 in advance and $15 at the door (age of majority required).
A paddleboat fishing tournament continues Saturday, July 29 at 9 a.m. (Flight 3) and 10:30 a.m. (Flight 4) starting from the Sorting Gap Marina, in conjunction with the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship.

Stock car racing will be held at the Emo Speedway on Saturday, July 29 (weather permitting). Hot laps are at 7 p.m., with the first race at 7:30. There also will be powder puff races, as well as organ donation awareness.
“Straw Dogs” (featuring Chris Krienke, Arden Bruyere, and Brad Leishman) will close out the Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship on Saturday, July 29 starting at 9 p.m. under the big tent at the Sorting Gap Marina. Admission is $12 in advance and $15 at the door (age of majority required).

The Borderland Jr. Thunder ‘AAA’ squad is holding a development camp July 31-Aug. 4 at the Memorial Sports Centre, with the team participating in a tournament in Duluth on Aug. 25-27. A fish fry, hosted by the Halkirk fire protection team, is slated for Saturday, Aug. 5 from noon-6 p.m. at the Bear’s Pass fire hall (Armstrong Road). There also will be homemade pies and a penny auction. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children (no dogs, please).
