ZACKERY PETER (THE SHACK) COUNCILLOR

It is with deep sadness that the family of Zackery Peter (The Shack) Councillor, 19, of Stanjikoming First Nation, Ont., announces his passing on Monday, May 4, 2009.
Zackery was born Dec. 6, 1989 in Fort Frances, Ont. and had lived all his life in Rainy River District.
He loved fishing, playing sports, playing cards, and hanging out with his friends and cousins. He enjoyed helping elders, and was very active and helpful in the community.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bonnie and Brad Councillor, and his siblings, William, Haley, and John, all of Stanjikoming First Nation.
Also surviving are his grandmother, Mary Natawance of Stanjikoming First Nation; aunts, Annie McGinnis of Manitou Rapids First Nation, Carol Quagon (Bill Wayash Jr.) of Stanjikoming First Nation, Denise Quagon of Winnipeg, and Patty Smith (Brian Wayash Sr.) of Stanjikoming First Nation; uncles, Harry Windego of Stanjikoming First Nation, Dennis Black (Lena Malcolm) of Winnipeg, Bruce Black of Northwest Bay First Nation, and Morris Shebagegit of Sabaskong First Nation; cousins, Derek, Myrna, Miranda and Anita Shebagegit, and Ed Natawance (Janice Henderson) all of Stanjikoming First Nation; as well as other numerous cousins.
Zackery also is survived by his best friend, Raymond Johnson.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and May Black, and Joe Natawance; aunts, Elizabeth Shebagegit and Brenda Black; and cousin, Rowland Shebagegit.
A traditional funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 9 a.m. at the Stanjikoming First Nation fitness centre. Gilbert Smith will officiate, followed by interment in the Stanjikoming First Nation Cemetery.
A funeral wake will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 from 4 p.m. at the Stanjikoming first Nation fitness centre.
The pallbearers will be Brian Wayash Sr., Ed Morrison, Scott Smith, Raymond Johnson, Delano Black, and Larry McGinnis.
The honourary pallbearers will be Bill Wayash Jr., Dakota Smith, Dwayne McGinnis, Wayne McGinnis, Ed Natawance, and Javiner McGinnis.
