Miller, William

William Ernest Joseph Miller, 55, of Ann Arbor, Mich. passed away on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at the University of Michigan Hospital.
He was born in Brampton, Ont. to the late Joseph and Zita Chartrand Miller, and was the husband of Kelly Geraldine Douglas Miller.
In addition to his wife, Willy is survived by his two children, Derek Douglas Miller and Lauren Joan Miller; and four siblings, Kathy Miller, Debbie (Dale) Lindsell, Kim Miller, and Diana (Gary) Angus.
Willy’s long career in the plastics industry culminated in him becoming vice-president of Global Injection Technologies at Amcor Rigid Plastics.
Willy touched the lives of everyone he met with his charismatic approach to life, his unforgettable laugh, and his determination to make the most of every moment. He always looked for the positive in every situation and inspired others to do the same.
Willy lived life on his own terms; creating lasting memories with his family, travelling the world, and helping others. He could light up any room with his presence and his dance moves were world-class.
He will be remembered always in all of our hearts.
Willy’s family received friends on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and again from 6-8 p.m. at Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd., Ann Arbor.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests in memoriam donations to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, Attn: Donor Appreciation Department, 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 or Mott Children’s Hospital, UMHS Office of Development, 1000 Oakbrook, Suite 100, Ann Arbor, MI 48104-6815 (this is where Willy had his bone marrow transplants).
