William “Bill” Mutz, 84, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at his home in Alberton Township, Ont.
Bill was born July 13, 1923 in Rakowy Las, Poland to the late Nick and Barbara Mutz. In 1936, Bill’s family moved to Canada and settled in Fort Frances, Ont.
In his earlier years, he worked at the paper mill in Fort Frances until his retirement. As well, Bill also lived and farmed in Alberton Township, and as well on another farm he owned near Emo.
He thoroughly enjoyed gardening, and tending his fruit trees, and provided anything to family and friends that came to visit. He was a quiet man, and loved to drive around the countryside to visit and talk with people he knew and met.
Bill will be missed by his family and friends alike.
He was predeceased by one brother Nick Mutz; one sister, Sonia Baryulak; and one brother-in-law, Aarne Lahti.
Bill is survived by one sister, Annie Lahti, and one brother, Jack Mutz, both of Fort Frances, Ont.; and by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rev. Frances Flook will officiate, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit prior to the funeral service on Tuesday morning.
The pallbearers will be his nephews, Ralph Lahti, David Mutz, Tim Mutz, Richard Mutz, Greg Shoemaker, and Don Angus.
The honourary pallbearers will be his good friends.
