WILLIAM ‘BILL’ BRUYERE

It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our big brother, “Bill,” on Monday, May 10, 2004 in Fort Frances, Ont.
Born William Daniel Bruyere on Sept. 28, 1962 to the late Irvin and Elaine Bruyere, Bill made his home on Couchiching First Nation, where he lived all his life.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Irvin in 1987 and Elaine in 2000. He also was predeceased by his nephew, Payton, in January, 2001.
Bill leaves behind his special friend, Jennifer Spoon, with whom he shared his life. He leaves also his brother and sisters.
He is survived by his oldest sister, Connie (Ed) Calder; his baby sister, Allison (Garth) Lockman; and his younger brother, Sam (Candace) Bruyere. He had a special relationship with his brothers and sisters.
Also close to him were his nieces and nephews, Cherity, Jesse, Jason, Jane, Ed Jr., Angela, Ian, Irvin, Allan, Nikki, Joseph, and Kenya; great-nieces and nephews, Jaxon, Dawson, Anelynn, Arial Lynn, and Kayle; his aunt, Sharon of Burnaby, B.C., and uncle, Albert, of Couchiching First Nations, Ont.; also his aunts, Edith, Dorothy, Mabel, Shirley I., Ann, Mildred, Joan, and Lucy, and uncle Tom and uncle Ralph, all of Couchiching First Nation and Fort Frances, Ont.
He also is survived by his special caretaking neighbour, “Donalda” (“Our Informant”).
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Couchiching First Nation, with Fr. Rey Ronquillo officiating.
Interment will take place in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Couchiching First Nation at a later date.
Friends may visit Wednesday, May 12, 2004 from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Tim “Kip” Mainville, Blair “Easter” Easton, Marcel “Tooks” Tookenay, Gary “Uncle Gare” Lockman, Shane “Maynard” Jourdain, and Wesley George “S.S.” Bruyere.
Honourary pallbearers will be Eddie “Flitz” Calder Jr., Jesse “Jess” Calder, Jason “Fling” Calder, Ian “Weebs” Lockman, “Oowey” Lockman, Joe “Juzeff” Bruyere, Allan “Fat Boy” Lockman, Randy “Bigalo” Bruyere, Doug “Ma’Dougie” Morrisseau, Jeff “Boddow” Bruyere, RJ Ewen, Kerry “Canary” Morrisseau, Clayton “Smiks” Windego, Steven “Stove” Mainville, Chad “Sadius” Bruyere, and Chris “Hee Hee” Bruyere.
