WILLIAM ADAM MADILL

William Adam Madill, 84, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2011 peacefully at home in Duluth, Mn.
He was born Oct. 11, 1926 to William and Ann (Handjik) Madill in Rainy River, Ont.
William served in the U.S. Army during WWII, earning his American citizenship. He married Olga Zeleny on April 22, 1947, and they moved to Duluth in 1951.
Bill worked as a carman for 46 years for the DWP Railroad. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion, Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and St. James Catholic Church, and enjoyed gardening and making birdhouses.
Bill was very proud of his ability to provide for his wife and family over the years.
He is dearly loved and will be sadly missed.
He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Olga; brother, John; an infant sister; and brother- and sister-in-law, Donald and Stella Sanbeck.
William is survived by his children, Richard (Mary) of Duluth, Mn., Charlotte (Stan) Copiskey of Saginaw, Mn., Wendy (Walt) Mizinski of Sun City West, Ariz., Gary (Kathy) of Duluth, Mn., and James (Cindy) of Hermantown, Mn.; 12 grandchildren, Nathan, Jeffrey, William, Tina, Terra, Tanya, Jodi, Brady, Chelsey, Jennifer, Andy, James II, and Christopher; 24 great-grandchildren; and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2010 at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Duluth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with Fr. James Bissonette officiating.
Interment to take place at Oneota Cemetery.
