It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Wilhelm Halverson on June 25, 1998 at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital in Kenora, Ont.
Wilhelm will be remembered by his brothers, Leo (Shirley), Emil, Gordon (Betty), Morris, and Robert (Arlene); and sister, Betty (Richard) Peterson.
He also will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Wilhelm was predeceased by his parents, Gustav and Anna; brothers, Richard and Harvey; sister, Pearl; and nephew, Ricky.
Wilhelm was born in Bergland, Ont. on Jan. 22, 1925 but the family moved to Nestor Falls, Ont. in the early 1930s.
He had served in the Engineer Corps. during the war. After this, he took over the daily operations of the family tourist camp in Nestor Falls.
Wilhelm was active in his community and church, being involved as a member of the N.O.D.O. Association, and the Northern Echo Bible Camp and the Off Lake Covenant Church in Finland, Ont.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 30, 1998 at the Off Lake Covenant Church, with Rev. Dan Pearson officiating. Visitation was held there one hour prior to the service.
