WAYNE PHILIP ARMSTRONG

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Wayne Philip Armstrong, who left us on August 24, 2025, at the age of 68 at his home.

Born on September 30, 1956, Wayne was the beloved son of the late Dennis and Evelyn Armstrong. He grew up on the family farm, where hard work was instilled in him from a young age — a value he carried throughout his life and passed on to his children.

Wayne is survived by his children Mandy Armstrong, Chris Armstrong, and Jason Warman; and his grandchildren Mackenzie Armstrong, Jace Carlson, Deni Armstrong, Klarah Warman, and Jordan Warman, who were the greatest joy of his life. He will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Jack Armstrong, Karen Higgins, Mike Armstrong, Dan Armstrong, Alvin Armstrong, and Jane Safronyck; numerous nieces and nephews and number of close friends.

A talented carpenter, Wayne poured his skill and heart into everything he built. One of his proudest accomplishments was the construction of a beautiful log cabin on the Rainy River, a place where family and friends gathered to create lasting memories. Even after retirement, he refused to slow down, always keeping busy with home renovations and caring for his property.

Wayne took pride in all his projects, big and small, always approaching them with creativity and ingenuity. He had a knack for turning even the simplest idea into something unique and meaningful. He was constantly finding new ways to keep himself entertained — whether it was fixing, building, tinkering, or inventing something just for the fun of it. His hands were rarely idle, and his mind was always working on the next idea.

Wayne was known for his humour and his gift for storytelling. A true jokester, he loved to share tales — sometimes with a little embellishment for effect — and those who knew him best could attest that even the most outrageous stories often turned out to be true.

Wayne will be remembered for his devotion to family, his craftsmanship, his work ethic, and the warmth and laughter he brought to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, creativity, and stories that will continue to be told for generations.

A Celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Monday, September 22, at the Stratton Curling club at 12:00 noon. A luncheon will follow the service. In the spirit of Wayne, we invite you to come as you are – casual, comfortable, and true to yourself.

they walk beside us every day.”
