WAYNE LYNN HALVERSON

Wayne passed away suddenly on Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, Man. at the age of 61.
While missing him greatly, his family is thankful for the countless good memories.
Besides his loving wife of 42 years, Joanne, Wayne is survived by his son, Kerry Halverson of The Pas, Man.; daughter, Jodie Madden, son-in-law, Jack, grandson, Trevor, and granddaughters, Doree and Hanna of The Pas, Man.; and son, Jim Halverson, daughter-in-law, Jackie, granddaughter, Emily, and grandson, Reece, of Winnipeg, Man.
Also surviving are his sister, Betty Fleming; brother-in-law, Tom of Brighton, Ont.; father-in-law, Ed Erickson of Fort Frances, Ont.; special uncle, Carl Halverson (Edna) of Fort Frances, Ont.; and brother-in-law, Rick Erickson (Linda) of Calgary, Alta.
Also mourning his passing are several nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins, in addition to many friends and co-workers involved in his day-to-day life.
Wayne was predeceased by his parents, Aleitha and Haldo Halverson; mother-in-law, Leona Erickson; and brother-in-law, Marvin Erickson.
Wayne was born and raised in Fort Frances, Ont. This is where he met and married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Joanne.
Wayne and Joanne moved to The Pas, Man. in 1976 and this is where they raised their family of three, Kerry, Jodie, and Jim. He worked in the pulp and paper industry in both Fort Frances and The Pas, retiring in 2005.
After many years of camping, they moved to Rocky Lake, where Wayne and Joanne enjoyed “lake” life.
Wayne always was willing to lend a hand, whether it was to help a friend or a stranger on the road. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and his newest hobby, working as a licensed bear guide.
He took great pleasure in spending time with his family, including the delight of his five grandchildren.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
