It is with deep sadness that the brothers and sisters of Wayne Douglas Veillieux announce his passing on February 6, 2024.
Wayne was born on July 18, 1938, to Alphonse and Ruby (Rounds) Veillieux in Fort Frances, Ont.
Wayne worked for Bell Canada for a few years and later for Mando.
He met the love of his life Betty Hartnell. They were married in Fort Frances, and and later moved to International Falls, Minn., where they raised their family.
Left to mourn are his four children; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; as well as brothers Robert Veillieux, Lyle (Shirley) Smith; also sisters Yvonne Kellar, Jean Smith of Fort Frances, and Shirley Lauritsen of Alberta.
Wayne was pre-deceased by his wife Betty and infant daughter; sisters Lorna Marchuk, Margaret Hatfield and Roxie Jacklyn.
Goodbyes are not forever, goodbyes are not the end, it simply means we’ll miss you until we meet again.
