Walt passed away peacefully on November 15, 2022. He was born on June 30, 1949, to Laurie and Mona (Nielson) Shrumm of Stratton, Ont.
Walt loved all outdoor activities; camping, fishing, hunting and snowmobiling were some of his favorites. He also loved to travel and to read. Even though he was an excellent tradesman, driving truck was his go to choice for employment. He was always there to lend a hand to a friend when needed.
He is survived by his wife Ardelle (Desserre); his son Fred (Jude) and their children Ericka and Shane; his mother Mona; and his sisters Joanne, Cheryle (Dayle), Karen (Wayne) and their families. He is also survived by in-laws Lawrence and Ella, Caroline (Gary), Wade (Kim), Leo, Veronica and their families.
He was predeceased by his father Laurie Shrumm; his stepfather Lloyd Hartnell; grandparents Lorne and Florence (Pearson) Shrumm, Fred and Alice (Bowman) Nielson, William and Ester (Wensley) Hartnell; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
As per Walt’s wishes, no services will be held.
