October 28, 1926 – June 1, 2022
Born in Morden Manitoba to Maria (Fast) and Bernhart Brunn. He passed away in Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, British Columbia, surrounded by loved ones, who will carry his legacy into the future. Wally left this world on his own terms.
He was predeceased by his first wife Alice (Martha Frisen); his daughter Laureen; four brothers Victor, Raymond, Johnny and Harold.
He will be missed by his wife Joanne; his children Gwen (Don) Wyatt, Dennis (Donna) and Becky (Marty) MacIsaac; sisters Marion Wakefield, Dorothy Kasprick; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Wally loved golf, fish and butter tarts, not necessarily in that order.
He was an avid golfer, making it out to the course even into his late years and we’re sure he will be discovering new ways to do so again. Following his tradition he opened the golf course this year.
His birthday was at the end of October, which was usually the closing day of the course and he said he liked to golf his age. He used to say that got easier every year.
Wally served in the army from January 1945 to July 1946 and he loved to talk about being up north doing the NORAD supply runs.
Wally enjoyed travelling, fishing at Lake of the Woods and visiting family.
He was known to be actively involved in the community, generously sharing time and experience with all. Wally loved to promote Castlegar, B.C., where he settled after living in many different areas in Canada.
As requested by Wally there will be no service, However, donations may be made to your preferred charity in his name.
