WALLACE ‘BRUCE’ WOOLSEY

Wallace “Bruce” Woolsey passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 in Burnaby, B.C. at the age of 81 after a valiant struggle with cancer.
Bruce served Canada in the merchant marine in the Second World War.
Following his discharge, he enjoyed a successful career on the Vancouver waterfront as longshoreman, foreman, and superintendant until his retirement 25 years ago.
He will be remembered as a kind, lovable, generous, hard-working man who was liked and respected by all.
Bruce will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife, golfing and travelling partner, Verna (Smith).
Also surviving are his sister and her husband, Ellen and Keith Taylor of Thunder Bay, Ont., and their daughters, Gwen Taylor and her children, Jenna and Taylor Poling, of Thunder Bay, Ont., and Lauri Taylor and her children, Ashley, and Aaron Jenah of Richmond Hill, Ont.; and his sister-in-law, Shirley Woolsey and her daughters, Lillian and Carrol Woolsey, all of Vancouver, B.C.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lily and Wallace Woolsey, formerly of Emo, Fort Frances, and Thunder Bay, Ont., and other places across western Canada; and his brother, Harold Woolsey of Vancouver, B.C.
He also was predeceased by his first wife, Christina (Pappas); and survived by their daughter and her husband, Christina and David Arlington of Coquitlam. B.C.
Family will observe private remembrances in Vancouver, Coquitlam, and Thunder Bay.
