W.C. MYERS

Word has been received of the death of W.C. (Bill) Myers of Marshal, Tex., who passed away Oct. 21, 2004 at his home after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was born Jan. 18, 1943 in Kansas City, Mo. to the late Bill and Mary Myers Sr. At an early age, he moved with his family to Little Canoe River on the North Arm of Rainy Lake, where his parents built and operated Little Canoe Lodge.
Bill and his sister were taught school by their mother at Little Canoe until high school, which he completed in Kansas City. His summers were spent at Little Canoe.
After graduating, he returned to this area, where he worked guiding and trapping, but eventually moved back to Kansas City, where he was employed by General Motors. He was transferred to Shreveport, La. in 1989 and retired from there in 1996.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. His hobby was collecting guns, reloading his ammunition, and building muzzle-loading replicas. He also enjoyed cooking and was very good at it.
He is survived by Charlotte, his beloved wife of 24 years; his three children, Casey (Elaine) of Marshal, Tex., Laurie Miller and companion, Henry Sandoval, of Brownsville, Tex., and Thomas (Carla) of Kansas City, Mo.
He also is survived by his sister, Betty (Phil) Cleroux of Kamloops, B.C.; six grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Baptist Temple in Waskom, Tex.
