With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother Violet (Vi) Doucette (nee Shine) who peacefully passed away December 7, 2025, with her family by her side following a tragic fall.
Violet was born April 21, 1945, and grew up on the family farm in Devlin, Ont. She was the youngest of 10 children. On Sept 25, 1965, Violet married Donald, recently celebrating their 60th anniversary. They began their married life together in Crozier, Ont., and moved to Atikokan in 1969. Violet always considered Atikokan home and often spoke highly of our healthcare providers, small town comforts and having most of her family close by.

After raising her four children, Violet decided to return to school. She graduated from Confederation College Atikokan Campus earning a Social Work diploma in the early 1990’s, showing remarkable patience and determination while often having young grandchildren crawling around visiting. She took her diploma and went straight to work for Atikokan Community Living. Violet loved her clients and continued to stay in touch with many of them long after her retirement.
Violet was a very proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits, often sharing their accomplishments and stories with the next visitors.Top of Form

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held in the summer when family and friends can travel safely. Online condolences may be made at www.sargentandson.com.
