VIOLA ‘VI’ ARVENA MARCHUK

Sadly, the family announces the passing of Vi Marchuk, 84, of Rainy River, Ont., on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Rainy River Health Centre.
Vi was born Aug.14, 1930 in Rainy River to Lois and Roy Waldenberger.
She grew up in Harris Hill and in her earlier years work for Bell Telephone and Lowes Lumber.
Vi was united in marriage to Gerald Marchuk and they resided in Sleeman, Ont., where they raised their two boys, Mark and Derek.
She loved her property in Sleeman, and enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds and animals.
After declining health, Vi moved to the Rainy River Health Centre’s Extended Care, where she remained until her passing.
Vi will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Mark (Lissa) of Rainy River, Ont. and Derek (Beth) of Saskatoon, Sask.; grandchildren, Colton, Jeff, Reece, Pam, Stacey, and Shayna; and great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Kovy, Kadean, Hayden, and Chloe.
She also is survived by nieces and nephews, Arlene (Plum) Byrnes, Shawne (Dan) Crowe, and Ron Byrnes.
Vi was predeceased by her parents, Lois and Roy Waldenberger; sister, Marie Byrnes; and brother, Elgin Waldenberger.
A celebration and remembrance of Vi’s life will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Knox United Church in Rainy River, with Rev. Frances Flook officiating.
Interment will take place in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River.
