It is with deep sadness that the family of Victoria Sokil announces her passing on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 at her residence in Fort Frances, Ont. at the age of 92.
Victoria was born Oct. 23, 1914 in Stuartburn, Man. to the late John and Rosie Druzyk. She moved to Fort Frances in 1930 and had lived here since.
She enjoyed working in her garden, crocheting, and knitting. She also loved doing puzzles, playing cards, her coffee time with her friends, and watching TV, especially “Little House on the Prairie.”
Most of all though, raising and spending time with her family was most important to her.
Victoria was predeceased by her husband, Mike; son, John; parents, John and Rosie Druzyk; three grandchildren, Gordon, Trevor, and Mindy Sokil; and daughter-in-law, Marlene Sokil
She is survived by her son, Dennis and wife, Janet, and her granddaughter, Melissa Sokil, all of Winnipeg, Man. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Mackenzie, and Dominik; and sister-in-law, Helena Solkil of Fort Frances, Ont.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Rev. Jill Warner officiating.
Interment will take place in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Jan. 26, 2007 from 7-8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home.
The pallbearers will be her granddaughter, Melissa Sokil, and her great-grandchildren, Tristan, Mackenzie, and Dominik.
