Victoria Decaire, age 90, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025, with her family and close friends by her side at the hospital in Fort Frances, Ontario, following a brief illness.
Vicki, as she was known to her friends, was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald (“Gerry”) Decaire, her parents, one sister, and two brothers. A defining milestone in Vicki’s life was her immigration to Canada in April 1975. She made her home on a farm in Pinewood, Ontario, alongside her husband, her mother, and her three children. In later years, she became an active member of local clubs and found great joy in socializing and connecting with others. In 2014, she settled in Fort Frances, where she continued to build friendships and community. Vicki experienced 50 Canadian winters and lived a long, vibrant life filled with resilience, warmth, and meaningful connections.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Lourdes Fiorito (Vince), Luis Decaire, and Percy Decaire (Edith); she will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren Alex Fiorito (Judy) of Shanghai, China; Genesa Korzenito (Drew); Sarah Decaire; Michael Ishmael (Beatrice); and Kiera Bailey (Reed). Vicki was a proud great-grandmother to Everest, Oakley, Felix, Luna, Amelia, Quentin, Carys, Callum, and Clara. Pallbearers will be Luis and Percy Decaire, Bill Michl, Kevin Kennedy, Guy Arpin, and Johnny Desaulniers. Honorary pallbearers are Reuben Korb, Janice Makarenko, Aneeda Chabot, and Noelle Nordin.

A mass service will be held at Pinewood Catholic Church Our Lady of the Way on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the palliative care unit of Fort Frances Hospital.
