Valarie Marie Lizotte, 61, of Couchiching First Nation passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at home with her family by her side.
She was born on Sept. 13, 1952 in Fort Frances, Ont. to Wallace (Swede) and Shirley Bruyere. She grew up in Couchiching First Nation.
Valarie loved being outdoors. She worked at various camps, and enjoyed fishing, camping and travelling.
On Sept. 16, 2000, she was united in marriage to Jack Lizotte.
Valarie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were very dear to her.
Valarie leaves behind her husband, Jack; son, Chad Bruyere and wife, Barbara; daughter, Amanda Levesque and husband, Richard; and grandchildren, Branden, Tyler, Kaylyn, Chad Jr., Oscar, Brayton and Adia Rose.
Also surviving are her mother, Shirley; brothers, Wallace “Dozer” (Agnes), Wesley, Keith (Carol), and Chris; sisters, Colleen (Ted) and Patty-Ann (Doug); brothers-in-law, Pat Roach, Danny (Ally), and Rosaire (Trish); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Swede; brother, Sandford (Laurie); and sister, Kim Roach.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Wayne McIntosh officiating.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers will be Leona McGinnis, Bev Wilson, Wanda Bouvaies, Anne Howells, Trisha Lizotte, Peggy Atatise, and Pauline and Greg Perreault.
