TURQUOISE GEM MORGAN-TOM

With great sadness the family announces the passing of Turquoise Gem Morgan-Tom, 34 of Thunder Bay, Ontario, on June 30, 2022, at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.

Turquoise was born on June 10, 1988, in Thunder Bay, to parents Colin Tom Sr. and Jane Lynn Tom (nee Morgan).

She was friendly, sweet, strong willed, outspoken, loving and lovable and had a beautiful smile. Turquoise was a very beautiful young lady. She enjoyed reading romance novels, attending pow wows and healing circles. She graduated with a drug and alcohol addictions diploma in Thunder Bay. Turquoise loved her son Emery, who was the light in her life, and her partner of 15 years, Robert McFarlane.

She will be lovingly remembered by her son Emery Tom; her partner Robert McFarlane; her father Colin Tom Sr.; her siblings Colin Tom Jr. (Terri Lynn); sister Tomasina Morgan-Tom; nieces Shiloh Skunk, Jada Tom, Mya Blais Tom, Milan Tom; grandmother Bessie Tom (Super Granny); uncles Roy Tom (Jane), Ronald Ewalt-Tom, Antoine Weber (Catherine); aunties Alison Tom, Nikki Gee-Tom, Naomi Braxton-Tom (Justin), Abigail Halverson (Brian); and chiniibiiyo cousins.

Turquoise was predeceased by her mother Jane Lynn Tom; grandmother Elva Jane Weber; grandfather Donald Morgan; grandfather Moses Tom; auntie Pauline Big George; uncles Patrick Tom, Jonathan Ewalt–Tom.

A Traditional wake will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at the Big Grassy First Nation Community Hall from 4 p.m. Traditional Service to follow on Monday, July 4, 2022, at 10 a.m. from the Hall with Elder Norman Campbell officiating. Cremation to follow.

Pallbearers will be Travis Tom, Jesse Tom, Mizhakwad Tom, Clarence Gibbins Jr. Buckley Morrison, Kevin Gemmell.

Honourary pallbearers will be Emery Tom, Colin Tom Sr. Colin Tom Jr. Roy Tom, Robert McFarlane.
