Trudy was born Aug. 30, 1925 in Zeist, Holland.
She met her husband, Herman, during World War II in Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1946. They settled in Fort Frances, Ont. to raise their five children, Gerry (Jacklynne), Dennis (Cindy), Linda (Ken), Charmaine (Glen), and Cherie (Kim).

Locally, Trudy is survived by her sister-in-law, Mabel Guimond, and a close family friend, Julia McDermid. She also is survived by family in Canada and Holland.
Trudy was a passionate person and loved to laugh. She was an active member in the church and choir, she loved animals, and had a gifted life as a tailor and enjoyed her many years at Betty’s.
