It is with great sadness the family announce that Travis James Spencer passed away suddenly on August 15, 2022, from natural causes, in Merritt, B.C. Travis was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, on April 30, 1973, to parents Rolene (Hogan) and Tracy Spencer.
He grew up there in a home his father built. He attended local schools and graduated from Fort Frances High.
Travis moved to Winnipeg and attended Winnipeg Technical College in the Culinary Arts and Design Course to become a chef; graduating in 2012.
He later moved to British Columbia, first to the Kelowna area and later settling in Merritt. He found work as a cook; which he really enjoyed. He spent much time hiking around the beautiful Merritt area; working out with weights and like many members of his family – playing the guitar.
He was predeceased by his loving parents Tracy (1997) and Rolene (2012); and brother Trevor in infancy; his grandparents Jenny and Leo Hogan; and George and Kathleen Spencer; two aunts; three uncles; and two cousins; as well as close friend, Frank Trenholm.
He was especially close to and will be sadly missed by aunts Janet (Warren), Audrey (David); uncles Archie (Darlene), George; cousin Wade (Helen); good friend Vanessa Trenholm and his cat Danger; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia also survive him.
Funeral Services will be held in Fort Frances at Riverview Cemetery on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
