TOM POCOCK

Tom Pocock, 58, of Fort Frances, Ont., passed away suddenly Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002. He was born Feb. 5, 1944 in Fort William, Ont.
Tom will be greatly missed by his wife, Verna (nee Ellman), whom he married July 5, 1963; children, Kevin, Sandra, and Ken; daughters-in-law, Lisa and Beryl; and grandchildren, Tyler, Kristin, and T.J. Pocock, Zachery and Conner Pocock, and Taylor and Lindsay Dixon.
Also surviving are his sisters, Ellen Lennix (Bill), Dorothy McGregor, and Mary Pocock; mother-in-law, Ingrid Ellmen-Galbraith; sister- and brother-in-law, Viola and Ken Pederson; brother-in-law, Ron McGregor; and nephews and niece.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gertie Pocock-Stobart and Harold Pocock; step-father, Stan Stobart; father-in-law, Ty Ellmen; nephew, Lenny Lennix; niece, Orillia Lennix; and his best friend, Red.
Tom also is fondly remembered by his many cousins, friends, and employees.
Tom enjoyed fishing, scuba diving, playing hockey, and watching his sons and grandchildren play hockey. One of his favourite pastimes was having coffee with his friends at the “office.”
He worked as a heavy-duty mechanic for Great Lakes Forest Products for many years. Tom also opened his own garage in Fort Frances before being employed by MTO as a mechanic.
Tom and Verna acquired a partnership currently operating as Pokeys Vans.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 20, 2002 at 11 a.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances, with private interment at the Finland Cemetery.
