It is with profound sadness, that we share the peaceful passing of Todd Allan Baker on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his home on Clearwater Lake, with his family by his side.
Todd was born July 27, 1962 in Fort Frances, Ontario and lived his entire life in the Rainy River District. On May 19, 1984 Todd married the love of his life, Carrie.
Todd was one of kind. With his easy going nature and genuine smile, he brought light and laughter wherever he went. Todd was a hard worker. From hauling wood to selling lumber to operating a tourist camp, he accumulated many friends. He enjoyed hockey, baseball, curling, snowmobiling and fishing. Countless memories were made with the Cowboys hockey team,
Emo Legion baseball team and as a coach for Emo Minor Hockey. He fished several tournaments and one of his achievements was winning the Emo Walleye Classic with Greg Stahn in 2003. Todd loved the outdoors and the simple things in life. A beer on the deck was the perfect end to a busy day.

Todd dedicated over 20 years working with family and friends at Tompkins Hardware. He achieved his dream in 2011 when he and Carrie purchased Cedar Island Lodge. Ten years and countless hours were spent rebuilding and restoring the camp to a place where many feel at home today. Todd had a passion for food. The camp gave him the perfect opportunity to master his cooking skills. He will be remembered for his specialties: pancakes, ribs and smoked trout. Todd was mischievous and adventurous. We will miss his wisdom, his knowledge and his sense of direction.
Todd will be deeply missed by his best friend and wife of 36 years, Carrie; sons Joel and Jared (Micaela); and daughter Jessie (Doug); and grandchildren Sophia and Reid. Todd loved his children so very much and was very proud of them and their accomplishments.
He will also be fondly remembered by his Dad, Marlin (Gaydonna); and Mom, Marilyn; brother Tyler (Angel); and sister Marla (Yves); in-laws Carole (Peter), Nancy, Kristine (Greg), Curtis
(Sav), Gavin (Joelle); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Predeceased by grandparents Leo and Della Baker, Charlie and Lorraine Tompkins; son Ryan Baker; and father-in-law Garnet Paull.
As per Todd’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Todd enriched the lives of many and we will carry on his legacy and remember him with love. As we say at the camp, “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” Thank you for being the reason we smile.
As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made in memory of Todd to Riverside
Foundation for Health Care Food & Nutrition Services, c/o Northridge Funeral Home Ltd., Box 89, Emo, ON P0W 1E0, to enhance the patient food service experience.
