TIMOTHY CHARLES McLELLAN

Timothy Charles McLellan, 52, of Thunder Bay, Ont., passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010.
Tim was born in Red Lake, Ont. and grew up in Ear Falls, Ont. He moved to Fort Frances, Ont. in his early 20s and established himself in a number of trades jobs throughout the area.
Tim was an avid sports fan and enjoyed curling in his younger years, along with bowling, pool, and hockey during his nearly 30 years in Fort Frances. Tim loved his time at the arena and dedicated many seasons as a team manager and parent volunteer.
He was a keen observer of the local hockey scene, and loved to advise his friends on the arena rail that “those Red Lake Rams are going to be tough to beat this year.”
Tim’s love of his children, Cassie and Matt, always was evident. He was a tremendous supporter of their activities and a big booster at their hockey games.
Tim always was on hand to cheer them on, or cheer them up with a cup of hot chocolate from the canteen.
Tim is survived by his children, Mathew Charles McLellan of Thunder Bay, Ont. and Cassandra Lee McLellan of Fort Frances, Ont.; his mother, Sylvia (Fred) of Atikokan, Ont.; nephews, Rocky (Karina) and their children and Dan (Chantelle) and their daughter, all of International Falls, Mn.; numerous aunts and uncles; and special friend, Dee Foliga and her children.
Tim was predeceased by his father, Ormal; brother, Stan; and sister-in-law, Terri.
A memorial tribute to Tim will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances. It will start at 2 p.m. and run until 4 p.m.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 920 Frenette Ave., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3N4 or Fort Frances Minor Hockey, P.O. Box 306, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M6.
