After a courageous battle with cancer, Thomas William Nugent passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 with his wife, Phyllis, by his side at his home in Emo, Ont.
Thomas was born on Feb. 16, 1937 and raised in Montreal, Que. He later relocated to the Thunder Bay/Rainy River District in 1976.
Thomas was the eldest of nine children born to Isabella Nugent and Gordon Lenz, and was the beloved husband to the love of his life, Phyllis Nugent.
Thomas will be forever remembered by his devoted brothers, loving sisters, cherished children, and treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Thomas loved farming and spent a lot of time outdoors, tending to his cows, whom he treated with the greatest of respect. He was heard to say “Animals give you everything and then they give you their life.”
Thomas was a hard-working man who never liked to sit still; always on the go even when his health was deteriorating.
Thomas touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humour all the way to the end.
Thomas and Phyllis were members of Evangelical Fellowship Church.
