It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Ryan Indian Jr. announces his passing on June 16, 2020 at the Thunder Bay Regional Sciences Center.
He was born on September 3, 1987 in Fort Frances to Thomas and Lorna Indian. He lived in Fort Frances for the majority of his life. He liked to bead and raw with his spare time; he also liked weight lifting. He enjoyed watching movies and playing music. In his earlier years, he jammed with his brothers and their cousin, Adrian Indian. He played the guitar. He loved to be with his family and friends. He always looked after those who he was close to. He loved his nieces and nephews very much.
He leaves behind his siblings Crystal Indian (Greg), Robert Indian (Dayna), Byron Indian (Natasha); and his mother Lorna Indian (Edward); nephews Johnathon Indian, Jreydon Indian, Rayen Kokopenace and George Indian-Harper; nieces Danika Indian and Noah Indian-Harper; aunts Shirley Horton-Kampa, Gloria Paypompee, Loraine Paypompee, Catherine (Stubbulo) Kelly; uncles Ernie Bruyere, Larry Indian, Mervin Paypompee (Buffalo) and Richard Kelly and many more friends and family.
Thomas was predeceased by his father Tom Indian Sr.; sister Ruby Kokopenace; brother Richard Brown; grandfathers Gerald Bruyere, Thomas Indian and Paul Kelly; grandmothers Elsie Bruyere and Marie Kelly; aunties Agnus Kelly, Linda Indian; uncle Bill Kelly and cousin Angie Indian.
A traditional ceremony was held on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation Gymnasium with Elder Tommy Councillor officiating. Interment took place in the Ojibways of Onigaming First Nation Cemetery.
The pallbearers were John Indian, Jreydon Indian, Edmund Allan, Adrian Indian, Bryden Kelly and Joey McDonald.
The honourary pallbearers were Larry Indian and Ernie Bruyere.
