It is with great sorrow that the family of Tom Kenny announces his passing on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013.
Tom was born July 7, 1943 in Dryden, Ont. to Tom and Margaret Kenny.
He married the love of his life, Bette Sue Doman, on Oct. 24, 1970. She was his universe and her unexpected passing on Sept. 2 was devastating.
Together, they started their family, raising two boys who were everything to him.
Tom worked at the local paper mill for 33 years, retiring in 2007. He also was a current member of the Shriners and Granite Lodge.
Tom and Bette Sue took an annual trip to Ixtapa, Mexico and it was time they looked forward to—and cherished.
When at home, Tom enjoyed looking after the yard and spending time with his grandchildren. They brought a special smile to his face.
He leaves behind his son, Tom, and spouse, Deb, and their daughters, Kylee and Marissa; son, Todd, and wife, Shannon, and their children, Brett and Abbie; brothers-in-law, John and Susan Doman, and Jeff and Donna Doman; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Charlie Moore and Karen and Norbert Kuehn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and extended family in Dryden.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Margaret Kenny; and Bette Sue’s parents, Everett and Margaret Doman.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ont., with Pastor Diane Clifford officiating.
The honourary pallbearers will be Tom’s grandchildren, Brett, Abbie, Marissa, and Kylee.
If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 920 Frenette Ave., Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 1B7.
