Perreault

With heavy hearts, the family of Therese Marie Perreault (nee Blackburde) wishes to announce her passing, in her 89th year, on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
Therese was united in marriage to George Andreaux Perreault on May 18, 1942 on Couchiching First Nation.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss her daughters, Annabelle Jourdain and Genevieve (Glenn) Jourdain; son, Gregory (Pauline) Perreault; daughter-in-law, Judy Perreault; and grandchildren, Shelley (Michael) Shute, Sherry (Curtis) Jeffers, Dana (Kevin) Doyle, Shawn (Amanda) Jourdain, Shane (Jennifer) Jourdain, Curtis Jourdain, Connie (Darcy) Foster, Sandra (Edwin) Bruyere, Christine Jourdain (Nathan Bruyere), Douglas (Shannon) Perreault, Denise (Mark) Radigan, and Grant Perreault.
She also was blessed with 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons. She was a loving aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.
Therese was predeceased by her loving husband, George; parents, Gilbert and Antonia Blackburde; in-laws, Henry and Maggie Perreault; two sons, Douglas and Dennis; two grandsons, Nathan and Timothy Perreault; son-in-law, Russell Jourdain; two sisters, Melvina Blackburde and Virginia Kelly, and brother-in-law, Allan Peterson.
Therese’s working career began in tourist camps at Devil’s Cascade, Sphene Lake, Little Canoe River, and the Lower Manitou.
After her children were grown, Mom obtained her Early Childhood Certificate and was employed at the Fort Frances Day Care for a number of years.
Therese’s final place of employment was at Rainycrest Long-Term Care, until her health forced her into early retirement at the age of 52.
Many, many lasting friendships were forged over the years with her colleagues.
Therese’s main enjoyment in life was her family, especially interacting with her beloved grandchildren. She also was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Women’s League for more than 25 years.
Cremation has taken place.
A celebration of Therese’s life will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Couchiching First Nation, with Fr. Victor De Gagné as celebrant.
Mom’s ashes will be interred next to her husband, George, in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
The honourary pallbearers will be all of her grandchildren. The Catholic Women’s League will form an honour guard.
A luncheon will be held immediately after the interment in the parish hall.
Although appreciated, flowers are gratefully declined.
