With overwhelming sadness, we announce the tragic and unexpected passing of “Teddy” on Monday, March 26, 2001 at the Big Grassy First Nation at the age of 38 years.
Theodore was born Jan. 10, 1963 at Rainy River, Ont. and lived in the district most of his life. He was a kind and gentle person, who worked hard all of his life as a carpenter, fisherman, hunter, trapper, and general labourer.
Theodore was a man of strong faith who enjoyed helping others and touched the lives of many.
Remaining to cherish his memory forever are his mother Susan; companion, Dorothy Paypompee; brothers, Richard, William, Jamie, and Derek; and sisters, Lena, Cheryl, and Mary.
He was predeceased by his father, William; wife, Helen Rose; brother, Wilfred James; grandparents, Ben and Jean Copenace, and Jean Archie; and great-grandfathers, Bob and Billie Archie.
He also will be sadly missed by aunts, Lollie, Jen, Kris, Lena, Melvina, and Rosemarie; uncles, Leslie, Alvin, and Ernie; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.
A traditional funeral was held at the Big Grassy Hall on Friday, March 30, 2001, officiated by Garnet Councillor, followed by a traditional burial at Big Grassy First Nation Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Stan Dunlop, Rod Traverse, Frederick Archie, Albert Wilson Sr., Louis Kirkrude Sr., and George Kirkrude.
