THEODORE (TED) STAINKE

It is with great sadness that the family of Theodore (Ted) Stainke announces his passing on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. at the age of 99.
He was born Dec. 18, 1905 in Poland to the late August and Ernestine Stainke.
Ted moved to Canada in 1907. In November, 1924, he was united in marriage to Olga Wagner.
Following a brief period of time, the family moved to Portland, Ore., where Ted worked in construction. In 1929 during the Depression, the family moved to Saskatchewan to homestead.
From there, they moved in 1946 to Niagara Falls, Ont., where Ted farmed and worked in construction. Finally in 1965, they moved to Fort Frances, where Ted retired.
Ted was predeceased by his wife, Olga Stainke in 1988; one son, Elmer in 1947; four sisters, Ernestina, Adelia, Albertina, and Tillie; and two brothers, Adolph and Alex.
Ted is survived by three children, Robert Stainke and wife, Clara, of Fort Frances, Ont.; Rose Mary and husband, Jim Bain, of Sprague, Man., and Roy Stainke of Fort France, Ont.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Stainke and wife, Maureen, of Belgonie, Sask.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 19, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Rainycrest Chaplain John Chornabay officiated, with interment in Riverview Cemetery in Fort Frances.
