Theodore (Ted) Bolton Burgoyne, 75, of R.R #2 Emo, Ont., passed peacefully, with his family and close friends surrounding him, on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 at the La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Vicki; cousins, Harry, Peggy, Mathew, and Sarah and their families; brother-in-law, Jim and wife, Maria; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his mother, Moyra; step-father, Rex; and his father, Ted.
Ted was a well-read, kind man with a strong faith. He loved to learn. During his life, he worked as a carpenter, resort cook, truck driver, school bus driver, underground miner, and proprietor of a tobacco shop.
He also worked in a photography studio, for a log builder, and as a stocker at Cloverleaf grocery store in Emo.
He was proud of the work he did for five years as the Registrar for the Anglican Church, Diocese of Keewatin. He also served on the boards of St. George’s Anglican Church, the Emo Food Bank, and Golden Age Manor.
For many years he carved and made beautiful burl bowls.
As per Ted’s wishes, a private family graveside service was held Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 at the Finland Cemetery.
To celebrate Ted’s life, a potluck gathering will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo.
