THELMA MARIE (FLETT) BLUMER

Thelma M. Blumer, 74, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the Falls Memorial Hospital. 
Thelma was born Dec. 25, 1931 in Fort Frances, Ont. She moved to the Falls in 1951.
Formerly Thelma Marie Flett, she was united in marriage to Dean Blumer Sr. on Jan. 13, 1951 in Fort Frances. Dean and Thelma were married for more than 54 years, celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in 2001.
Thelma worked at Ric Jig Tackle for 17 years, as well as being a homemaker to her family. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also loved the state fair each year, watching television, reading, driving, and getting together with family for the holidays. She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls.
She was predeceased by her husband, Dean Blumer Sr.; parents, Caroline (Jourdain) Flett and Fred Goodwin, and Lavern and Caroline Blumer; brother, Norbert “Buddy” Flett; and sister, Violet Anderson.
Thelma is survived by her three sons, Dean (Nina), Dale, and Dan Blumer, all of International Falls, Mn.; daughter, Pam (Jim) Pearson of International Falls, Mn.; eight grandchildren, Caroline (Tim) Affield, Donovan (Angie) Blumer, LaVern Morin, Jamie and Jenna Pearson, and Mark, Mathew and Sarah Blumer; and four great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters, Helen Sinclair and Barbara Kelly of Winnipeg, Man.; special aunt, Arlene Meade, and Sylvia (Jerry) Johnson; and uncle, Pete (Donna) Clark.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 30, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at the Green-Larsen Memorial Chapel in International Falls.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, May 1, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls.
Interment will follow Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls.
