THELMA BOOTH

In loving memory of Thelma Booth, 79, of 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., who passed away peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances.
Thelma leaves behind five children, Norma and husband, Joe Danku, of Fort Frances, Betty Maguire of Fort Frances, Karin and husband, Richard Lee, of Fort Frances, Cecile and Brian Drummond of Winnipeg, Man., and Ted and wife, Bette, of Kenora; and son-in-law, Michael Maguire of Thunder Bay, Ont.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, Kathy and Jim Pozzebon, Nancy and Simon Picken, Paul and Suzanne Danku, D’Arcy Maguire, Maureen and Paul LeMesurier, Christopher and Joann Booth, Cory and LeAnne Booth, Jeff Booth, Tim Booth, Tara Booth, Michael and Collette Maguire, Kelly Maguire, Sally Lee, Andrew and Allison Drummond, Tammy Lee and Tony Anthony, and Darren Lee; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Roland and Anne Booth of Sarnia, Ont., Martin Booth of Emo, Ont., and Bert Booth of Atikokan, Ont.; sisters-in-law, Ethel Khober of Emo, Ont., and Jean Booth and Eunice Booth of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald on Jan. 2, 1992; parents, Robert and Alma Fraser; daughter, Clare on Jan. 18, 1999; grandson, Sean Maguire; and son-in-law, Patrick Maguire.
Thelma was born Sept. 28, 1920 in International Falls, Mn. She was united in marriage to Ronald on March 7, 1940. She spent most of her life on the family farm in Burriss, moving to Rainycrest in March, 1998.
Thelma enjoyed knitting and sewing, and when she was younger was an avid baseball player for the Burriss women’s team, a member of the Burriss Women’s Institute, and Burriss Ladies Aide, as well as a 4-H leader.
Thelma loved her family very much, and her grandchildren were extremely important to her.
A visitation was held Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 from 7 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home, with Rev. Patrick Playfair officiating.
Pallbearers were D’Arcy Maguire, Paul Danku, Andrew Drummond, Jeff Booth, Michael Maguire, and Tim Booth.
Honourary pallbearers were Ian Booth, Tom Booth, Jack Booth, Allan McCormick, George Hyatt, and Angus Hyatt.
