It is with deep sadness that the family of Terry Halvorsen announces his passing on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the age of 82.
Terry was born in Fort Frances, Ontario, and raised in Finland, Ontario, alongside his beloved sister Judy and two brothers. In 1962, he moved to Toronto to study Electronics and the following year he married the love of his life, Diana Beaushene.
Together they moved to Anoka, Minnesota, where Terry worked for Control Data for 10 years.
In the early 1970’s, Terry and his family returned to Nestor Falls, Ontario, where he built a lifelong career as a real estate broker, proudly serving the community for over 50 years. In addition to real estate Terry also worked in logging with his son Todd for several years – a job he truly enjoyed.

Terry had a zest for life and a deep love for his family. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a special bond with animals, a passion for flying airplanes and a love of Harley-Davidsons and fancy cars. Terry will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Al and Kay Halvorsen; brothers Danny and Doug Halvorsen; and nephew Bob Armstrong.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Diana Halvorsen; son Todd (Diane) Halvorsen; daughter Patti Kelly; grandchildren Jessica (John) Heinrich, Katie Kelly, and Bharat Kelly; great-grandchildren Chloe, Jude, and Reagan Heinrich; sister Judy Kendall (Jack); sisters-in-law Eila Halvorsen and Carol Halvorsen; nephews Wade, Scott and Mathew Armstrong, Guy and Cory Halvorsen and their families.
Terry’s legacy of love, laughter and adventure will live on in all who knew him.
