TERENCE ROY (TERRY) ALLAN

Terry Allan, 54, of Carpenter Township, Emo, Ont., passed away suddenly in Carpenter Township on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998.
Terry was born Oct. 8, 1944 in Port Arthur, Ont. He was adopted as an infant by his grandparents, Cecil and Elda Allan.
On Sept. 2, 1966, Terence was united in marriage to Helen Maki. They resided in Atikokan for a brief time, where Terry was employed at Caland Ore. The family moved back to operate a small grocery store in Burriss, Ont.
In the fall of 1968, Terry and his family made the final move to the Allan farm located in Carpenter Township. There, Terry and Helen raised their large family of 10 sons and seven daughters.
Terry was a successful self-employed individual involved in farming, trapping, hunting, and logging. He was a supportive member of Rainy River District Trappers, Northwestern Fur Trappers, and Fur Harvesters of Ontario. Terry’s life-long love for the woods was the place his journey on earth ended.
Terry’s love was overwhelming for his family and grandchildren, and he will be forever missed.
He was predeceased by his father, Harry Smith; and adoptive parents, Cecil and Elda Allan.
Terry is survived by his mother, Beverley and husband, Alfred Queck, of Georgetown, Ont.; wife, Helen Allan of Carpenter Township, Emo, Ont.; and 17 children, Victor, Jacqueline, Vince and wife Dayle, Jennifer, Jolene, Virgil, Vaughan, Julie, Jodie, Vance, Varlan, Vernon, Jade, Vlair, Van-Paul, Valence, and Jessica; three grandchildren, Jasmine, Madison, and Elizabeth; four brothers, Ray, Lorne, Jerry, and Carl and one sister, Norma, all of Naicatchewenin First Nation, Ont.; one sister, Alice Hoskins of Brampton, Ont.; and by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 7, 1998 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ont. Rev. Garth Clifford officiated, with interment in Emo Cemetery in Emo.
Visitation was held Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
Pallbearers were Andy Brigham, Brian Nielson, Jerry Donaldson, Dave Swiston, Terry Stevens, and Kent Ogden.
Honourary pallbearers were Carl Heisler, Allan Ottoson, George Thompson, Harold McQuaker, Sherwin Kavanaugh, and Alex Ogden.
