Susie Canfield, 91, passed away Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at Rainycrest Long-Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont.
She was born Sept. 8, 1919 in Plum Coulee, Man. to the late John and Helen Dick. The family moved to Fort Frances when Susie was a schoolgirl.
On Feb. 14, 1942, she married Charles Canfield and they resided in Fort Frances for most of their married life.
She was a homemaker and her life was her family. She also enjoyed knitting, camping, table games, and activities at her church.
Susie was predeceased by Charles, her husband of 67 years; her parents; three brothers; one son-in-law; and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Mitchell of Campbell River, B.C., and Gloria (Aaron) Carew and Helen (Dick) Lorette of International Falls, Mn.; son, Tom (June) Canfield of Victoria, B.C.; three sisters; and one brother.
She also is survived by six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
