STERLING ELBERT CAMERON

It is with great sorrow that the family of Sterling Elbert Cameron, 77, of Fort Frances, Ont., announces his passing on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 with his family by his side.
He was born July 30, 1933 in Madawaska, Ont. to the late Wallace and Merle Cameron.
On June 19, 1954, Sterling was united in marriage to the former Aileen Pigeon.
Following their marriage, they raised their family in both Whitney, Ont. and Fort Frances, where Sterling worked for the MNR until his retirement as Field Supervisor in 1986.
Throughout his life, he enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, and time at the cabin. Sterling loved spending many happy hours with his wife and family, and will be dearly missed by them and the many friends he had over the years.
Sterling is survived by his wife, Aileen, of Fort Frances, Ont.; four children, Cindy Cameron, Laurie (Forch) Mauro of Fort Frances, Ont., Ray (Shannon) Cameron of Winnipeg, Man., and Reg (Lisa) Cameron of Fort Frances, Ont.; five grandchildren, Jason Kuiack (Janet), Jaala Plaskett (Sean), Logan Cameron, Sonja Cameron, and Ryan Cameron; great-grandchildren, Malia, Keira, and Abbey Plaskett; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by his brothers, William Cameron of Madawaska, Ont., Irvine (Jessie) Cameron of Cornwall, Ont., Ivan (Ines) Cameron of Pembroke, Ont., and Calvin (Linda) Cameron and Wallace (Judy) Cameron of Armprior, Ont.; two sisters, Iva-Lois (Richard) Manley of Owen Sound, Ont. and Doreen (Gary) Carlton of Shelburne, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place at Rainy River Cremation Services in International Falls, Mn.
A memorial service to celebrate Sterling’s life was held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, with Fr. Wayne McIntosh officiating.
Inurnment will take place in Fort Frances at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers were all of Sterling’s grandchildren.
