Stanley Louis Jeffery passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. He was born Aug. 14, 1931 in Fort Frances and remained a life-long resident of the area.
Stan worked 38 years in the paper mill until his retirement in 1989.
Much of Stan’s free time was spent at the cabin on Reef Point, where he enjoyed those things he loved–the outdoors, feeding the birds, and being surrounded by the beauty of Rainy Lake.
Early in his life, he took an interest in photography and spent many hours developing his own pictures. Walking in the bush, hunting, fishing, and camping were his life interests.
Stan’s sense of humour will be missed by his family, as will the small and quiet things he did to let people know he cared for them.
Stan is survived by Pat, his wife of 22 years; his children by his first marriage, Theresa (John) D’Ornellas, Bob Jeffery (Tammy), Rick Jeffery (Shannon), and Michele (Rob) Peacock and their families.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; and three sisters, Arleen (Jack) Steinke and Esther (Don) Dodd, and their families, and Roberta Jeffery.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Delia (1954); and his son, Dan in 1989.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 14, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Green Funeral Home, with internment of his ashes at Riverview Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Riverside Foundation Dialysis Unit, Fort Frances, Ont.
