SIDNEY ‘SID JOHN IRVINE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sidney John Irvine of Barwick, Ont. on Oct. 11, 2009 at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont.
Sid was born Jan. 5, 1927 to the late John and Ethel Irvine.
Farming was Sid’s life; he enjoyed every aspect of it. He also spent many years working in the bush and driving truck.
In his younger years, Sid enjoyed hunting and sharing hunting stories with the younger lads.
He was known for his sense of humour and quick wit. He enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends where fun was had by all.
He is survived by his wife, Marg, of 39 years; children, Robert (Laurie), Betty Ann (Chris), Rodger (Susan), and Becky; grandchildren, Ross and Darby, Jason, Patty, Danny, and Greg; as well as great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Sid was predeceased by his parents, John and Ethel; his first wife, Elsie; son, Ross; sister, Ida; and in-laws, Maurice and Edith Desrosier.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009 from 7-9 p.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont., where a celebration of Sid’s life will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating.
Interment will take place in Barwick Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Gordon Hoskins, Terry Angus, Allan Teeple, Clayton Teeple, James Gibson, and Ken Burnell.
