It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our amazing mother and cornerstone of our family, Shirley Marie Nault on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
Shirley Marie Nault (nee Borlase) August 22, 1937, was born in Fort Frances, Ontario. She was raised by her beloved parents Josephine Borlase (nee Ballard) and father Bud Borlase. Growing up in the beautiful town of Fort Frances, Shirley developed a love for the outdoors. Shirley enthusiastically participated in many activities throughout her life, enjoying various interests such as gardening, fishing, hunting, boating, swimming, walking, bridge and golf, to name but a few. At one time Shirley proudly held the title of golf champion at the local club for several years in a row.

Shirley loved to travel and spent many enjoyable trips visiting friends and relatives while exploring North America with her husband George. However, her greatest love was always reserved for her family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.
Shirley leaves behind her brother Bill Borlase; and sister Joanne Marshall (Dave); her children Tammy Lamb (Bill), Julie Smith (Sandy); her stepchildren Janice Glueheisen (Len), Lori Pochailo (Jim), Frank Nault (Gab), Rod Nault (Kim), Dave Nault (Carrie); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was predeceased by her mother Josephine Borlase; her father Bud Borlase; first husband Dean Colvin; son Dan Colvin; grandson Robert Nault; stepson Dan Nault; second husband George Nault; daughter-in-law Sandra Nault; sister-in-law Anita Borlase; and grandson Patrick Wensley.
Shirley stated that she was tired of funerals and was adamant about never wanting to attend another one, not even her own. So, in keeping with her wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has already taken place.
In lieu of flowers and fussy funerals that will only make you sad, Shirley would have been happy to encourage everyone to bait a hook, hook a golf ball or just enjoy a moment while watching a sunset sparkle its final rays across the water… before the mosquitos chase you indoors.
