SHIRLEY JEAN PATTISON

Shirley Jean Pattison, 75, of Thunder Bay, Ont,. formerly of Emo. Ont., passed away suddenly on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 at her residence in Thunder Bay.
Shirley was born April 6, 1935 in Portage La Prairie, Man. to William Edward (Ted) and Yvonne Delia (Cardin) Kennedy.
At the age of 18. she moved to Nestor Falls, Ont. and worked at Crow Lake Lodge, then she worked as a housekeeper-babysitter for local families.
In 1957, she met Levi Pattison and raised a family of eight on the family farm in Carpenter Township. Shirley and Levi spent many years raising cattle, pigs, chickens, and other farm animals.
Shirley was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #99 and Ladies Auxiliary Women’s Institute, and the Emo Hospital Auxiliary.
She loved knitting, crocheting, and cooking. Playing cards and board games was her favourite pastime.
She is survived by her children, Lillian Haugh (Neil), David Swiston (Deanna), Susan Irvine (Rodger), Dianne Gushlak (Julian), Lynn Phillipes (Jim), Debbie Zimmerman (Ted), Nancy Swiston (Patrick), and Dawn Kelly Holborn (John).
Also surviving are her grandchildren, Earl Borger, David Swiston Jr., Daniel Haglin (Elizabeth), Greg Haglin (Erin), Scott Truelove, Christoper Swiston, Jessie Phillipes, Laura Pogmore (Trevor), Linda Debney (Evan), Sarah Truelove, Becky, Amanda and Logan Swiston, Carrie Jolicoeur, and Trevor and Scott Holborn; and great-grandchildren, Alisha and Faith Haglin, Charlie and Levi Debney, Isabella Haglin, Jonathon and Connor Holborn, and Ethan and Dominic Jolicoeur.
She also is survived by one sister, Lorna Welch (Doug); sisters-in-law, Edith Pattison, Ellie Pattison, and Anne Marie Kennedy; and special friend, Maurice Gagnon.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Levi Pattison; parents, Ted and Yvonne; brothers, Vaughn and Roland; sister, Pat Ogilvie (Bill); brothers-in-law, Arnold, Bert, Colin, and Allan Pattison; and sister in-law, Laura Lennox.
Cremation has taken place in Thunder Bay and a memorial services will be held Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo, Ont.
Rev. Eileen Bragg will officiate, with interment will take place in the Emo cemetery at a later date.
The honourary pallbearers will be all of Shirley’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
