SHIRLEY BELL

Shirley Bell, of Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances, Ont., formerly of Emo, Ont., passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008 at the age of 73.
Shirley was born Aug. 13, 1935 to the late Ronald and Winnifred Ashwood and raised in Toronto, Ont. She settled in Wasaga Beach, Ont., where she raised her family. She moved to Emo, Ont in 1980, where she met her future husband, Nick Bell.
For more than 25 years, Shirley was the Emo crossing guard. Her fondness for gardening and attending the Saturday night Emo Legion dances also will be remembered by all.
Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her children, Debora Morrison of Fort Frances, Ont., Rick (Sheila) Morrison of Stayner, Ont., Dorothy (Alex) Gamie of Emo, Ont., and Carol (Paul) Michtics of Terrace Bay, Ont.
She will be sadly missed by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Florence Greenslade of Toronto, Ont.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nick; brother, Ronald Ashwood; and sisters, Lil Hamilton, Mary Broughton, Dorothy Albin, and Phyllis Kerr.
Family and friends will be received at the Northridge Funeral Home in Emo on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 from 11 a.m., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Carl Emke officiating.
Interment will take place in Emo Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Shawn Morrison, Charles Maki, Tyler Morrison, Jim Strachan, Alex Gamie, and Paul Michtics.
