SHAWN PHILIP O’DONNELL

It is with deep sadness that the family of Shawn Philip O’Donnell announces his passing on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010.
Shawn was born in Fort Frances, Ont. on Sept. 9, 1954 to Vern and Vivian O’Donnell. His grandparents were Philip and Rose O’Donnell and Ted and Annie Oien.
He attended Robert Moore School and Fort Frances High School.
After living in Thunder Bay, Ont. for a short time, Shawn came back to Fort Frances and, after working at various jobs, worked at the local mill for many years. He would have retired in 2011.
He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Vivian O’Donnell of Fort Frances; his brother, Darren O’Donnell (Dana) of Fort Frances, Ont. and their children, Whitney and Hailey O’Donnell, and Justin Sanders; his sister, Lisbeth (David) Lippert of Waterloo, Ont. and their children, Carolyn, Tristen, Jackson, Victoria, Zephy, and Dawson Lippert; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Vernon O’Donnell, on March 2, 2010.
Shawn spent much of his leisure time doing various sports, like scuba diving, boating, riding his motorcycle, golf, hunting, and fishing. He was active in many community organizations, as well as provincial ones.
A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010.
Family and friends are invited to attend a late-afternoon luncheon and gathering, held in Shawn’s honour, on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 from 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Frances.
