SHARON McPHERSON

It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon McPherson announce her passing on July 23, 2026, at La Verendrye hospital surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born September 02, 1949, in Kenora, Ontario to the late James and Mary Murphy. In 1966 the family moved to Fort Frances where her father had accepted a position with the MNR.

In 1968 Sharon was working at the MNR office where she met a young man named Lynn McPherson and soon, they became inseparable and would spend the next 40 years together and would welcome their two sons, Christopher in 1977 and Patrick in 1984.

Sharon worked at Rainycrest for 42 years. She retired in 2011. Rainycrest is where Sharon met and worked with some of the best people and became best friends with many of her co-workers and would enjoy spending time with them outside of work at get-togethers, party’s, BBQ’s and trips.

After Lynns passing in 2008, Sharon stayed single until one night when a friend introduced her to Doug Selin. Mom and Doug spent the next 15 years together going on trips, fishing, suppers, and spending time at Pelican Pouch, relaxing, planting flowers and enjoying each others company.

Sharon was predeceased by her father James, mother Mary, sister Pamela, and husband of 38 years Lynn McPherson.

Sharon leaves behind her partner, Doug Selin. Two sons, Christopher and Patrick (Crystal) McPherson. Granddaughters Alexa Yerxa, Logan McPherson, Reagan McPherson. Gransons Kade-Evan Bruyere and Emanuel (Manny) McPherson and one Great Grandson Laine Bryuere.

Sharon will truly be missed and cherished by all her friends and family near and far.

 A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Fort Frances, Royal Canadian Legion from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
